User Management

This guide explains how to manage users in Hyperfox. From the admin panel you can invite new users, update their details and role, and remove users who no longer need access.

Table of Contents

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • Administrator access to the Hyperfox admin panel.
  • The email address of the person you want to add.

Overview

User management in Hyperfox is done from the Users section in the admin panel. From here you can:

  • View all users and their current status, role, and MFA state.
  • Add new users to the platform.
  • Edit an existing user's details or role.
  • Remove users who no longer need access.

Step 1: Navigate to Users

  1. In the Hyperfox admin panel, click the Settings (gear) icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Gebruikers (Users).

You will see a table listing all users with their email address, first name, last name, status, role, and MFA status.

Step 2: Add a User

  1. On the Users page, click the + Gebruiker toevoegen (Add User) button in the top-right corner.
  2. A side panel will open. Fill in the following fields:
    • Email β€” The user's email address (e.g. [email protected]).
    • Voornaam (First name) β€” The user's first name.
    • Achternaam (Last name) β€” The user's last name.
    • Wachtwoord (Password) β€” A temporary password for the user.
    • Rol (Role) β€” Select the appropriate role. See User Roles for details.
  3. Click Toevoegen (Add) to save the new user.

The user will now appear in the users table with an Active status.

Note: If your organisation uses SSO with automatic user provisioning (SCIM), users are created and managed automatically through your identity provider. Manual user creation is typically only needed for users who fall outside of the SCIM-managed groups.

Step 3: Edit a User

You can update a user's name, password, or role at any time.

  1. On the Users page, find the user you want to update.
  2. Click the Bewerk (Edit) button in the Acties (Actions) column for that user.
  3. A side panel will open with the user's current details pre-filled. Update the fields as needed:
    • Email β€” The user's email address.
    • Voornaam (First name) β€” The user's first name.
    • Achternaam (Last name) β€” The user's last name.
    • Wachtwoord (Password) β€” Leave blank to keep the existing password, or enter a new one to reset it.
    • Rol (Role) β€” Change the user's role if needed.
  4. Click Opslaan (Save) to apply the changes.

Step 4: Remove a User

Warning: Removing a user is permanent. The user will immediately lose access to the Hyperfox platform. This action cannot be undone.

  1. On the Users page, find the user you want to remove.
  2. Click the Verwijderen (Delete) button in the Acties (Actions) column for that user.
  3. Confirm the action in the confirmation dialog that appears.

The user will be removed from the table and will no longer be able to sign in.

User Roles

Hyperfox has three built-in roles. Each role determines what a user can see and do within the platform.

RoleDescription
userStandard access. Can view and interact with platform features but cannot access the admin panel.
adminCan access the admin panel and manage most settings, but cannot manage other administrators or super-admins.
super-adminFull access to all platform features and the admin panel, including user management and security settings.

Tip: Follow the principle of least privilege β€” assign users the lowest role that allows them to do their job. Reserve super-admin for those who need full administrative control.
